Imports and Exports
Today’s lesson started with sticky knowledge about Scandinavia from last term an all the children remembered the 3 countries.
They then looked at their definitions for import and export and the different types of goods we may import or export. The new vocabulary today was commodities (anything that can be grown or dug out of the ground) and manufactured (something made out of raw materials).
Using this knowledge, the children identified the raw materials that are used to make a sofa. Did you guess these items: steel, wood, cotton, oil for the foam. Afterwards, the children researched an item and highlighted the different raw materials needed to make it.
