French: the weather in the present and past tense

 We revised the weather in the present tense then we learnt the new verb in the past tense. Then we played a game where  we matched the past tense and present of weather with pictures. We also cut out pictures of seasons and the weather to help us write a sentence in the past tense.

Wolves in the Walls/ The Way of the Wolves

 During our English journey the children have been using books to inspire their writing:  Wolves in the Walls and The Ways of the Wolf. The children have been honing their letter writing skills using expanded noun phrases, using openers as well as adverbials and modal verbs to help develop cohesion across their writing.  It has been truly inspiring to see them thinking about their vocabulary and literary features and the impact this is making in their writing.

Fractions, decimals and percentages

 This week, in Maths, the children have been identifying fractions, decimals and percentages.  Using bead strings and place value counters the children have been able to see how one tenth is equal to ten hundredths. All of the children can now recognise that 0.1 is the same as 1/10 or 10%
