The Land of Roar

Hawthorn Class have been reading the Land of Roar by Jenny McLachlan. In this magical book the reader goes on an exciting journey with Arthur and Rose (eleven-year-old twins) to save their grandfather from a magical, dangerous and imaginary world hidden in their attic.

During our day, the children designed a dragon and then described its features. They also, recapped writing sentences with different modal verbs to see the effect of the meaning of their sentences. Then, we read some more of our book. Finally, the children designed their own magical maps on Canva using mapping skills from geography and computing skills.

To top the day off, some parent/grandparents came in to read with the class.
