Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance
Today, the children came to school dressed in green and yellow to show their support for the Air Ambulance Charity. This charity has been running since 2007, they have a team of doctors, dispatchers, paramedics and pilots. It is vital that they are able to respond quickly to both Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, thus, they are moving from their base in Thruxton to Southampton Airport so they are able to respond within ten minutes to the Isle of Wight.
The children attended an assembly with two of the volunteers and a lady who worked for the charity. Did you know that it costs £3500.00 every time they are called out to an incident? They are called out at least seven times a day!
It was lovely to see lots of the children bringing in a pound to donate to the charity. If you would like to support this charity further then please look at their website.
