On Wednesday, year five finally were able to complete their fieldwork for geography. The weather was warm and sunny for most of the time but we did have to take cover under Marks and Spencer’s as we were bombarded with hail and rain. Nevertheless, the children collected enough data to use in their lessons next week. 

A great morning out and the children were a credit to our school.

Over the last few week, Year 5 have been taking part in both athletics and basketball, engaging in a broad range of activities designed to develop their physical skills and deepen their understanding of each sport. In athletics, students have been rotating through a variety of events, including throwing, jumping, relay races, sprint and endurance running. Each station has focused on refining specific techniques, such as improving accuracy and power in throwing, developing rhythm and control in jumping, and enhancing coordination and teamwork during relay activities. French: conjugating the verb - jouer

 Year 5 revised the different genres of music and the names of different musical instruments. They identified jouer as a verb and practised saying the different verb endings with the matching personal pronouns, by pointing an each other where appropriate. They then completed some sheets filling in the correct ending of the verb.
