Interpretation - RE Day
What an interesting RE day looking at what interpretation means and how important it is that we listen to everybody to understand their thoughts or understanding of what has happened or will happen.
The children read a story about how two children were at school and an incident happened but the children both had different opinions of who was in the wrong. From this, the children came to a conclusion that everybody needs to look at each others perspective (point of view) and ensure they understand each others point of view and not speculate. In addition, they looked at two different birth narratives, one from Matthew and the other from Luke. As a class they debated whether one was more important than the other.
Finally, they evaluated and discussed their opinion about whether it matters there are two different interpretations about the story.
During the afternoon, they then used their learning and expressed this through a piece of art.
