Monotype Printing

Today, the children experienced something new: Monotype printing and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Using water based ink and a roller, the children spread the ink so it covered the page and was a consistent thickness. Then, they placed a clean sheet of paper on the top. Using a pencil, they drew autumnal shapes and applied different pressure to see how the shapes were visible.  A great lesson and thank you for cleaning up the mess!

The children enjoyed playing a game where they had to steal cones from a person in the middle and take then take them back to their coloured hoops to score a point. The person in the middle had to try and take off one of their tag belts, if this happened the child had to put the cone back. The children were really enjoying this warm up before they played a game of tag rugby.

Then the children looked at why belonging is significant and it what situation. Finally, they linked the idea of belonging and how Muslims show they belong and the importance of this.  The children watched a young girl named Medina who is a practicing Muslim to see how she shows she belongs when she visits the mosque.
